Leading with My Story to Help Save Lives
“This is the story behind Invisible PPE™ — the lived experience that shaped the work I do today.”
Stories Save Lives. This is Mine
I grew up in silence — abuse at home and the loss of two uncles and my stepfather to suicide.
That silence followed me into adulthood.
During a five‑year custody battle, I was nearly erased from my sons’ lives. Financial destruction, parental alienation, and false claims led me to my darkest night. I woke up on a hospital gurney by grace and the unwavering love of my mother — a moment that was later used against me. But I kept fighting. The truth came out, I secured 50/50 custody, and today my two amazing boys are thriving.
That night didn’t end me; it taught me that I didn’t really want a Way Out, but a Way Up.
The Standard of Silence
"I’m choosing to step into the gap so leaders and workers don’t have to walk this road alone. Culture only shifts when someone is willing to go first." — Scott
I carry this message with the urgency of someone who has survived the ‘Internal Fall’. I’ve lost friends, family, and nearly my own life to a silence we’ve mistaken for “toughness.”
In this industry, we’re taught to stay “solid on the surface.” Most people would never guess what I’ve been through. I look steady. I laugh. I look confident. But that’s exactly why this conversation is so vital — you can’t always see the struggle from the outside.
The ‘Invisible Load’ our teams carry is often heavier than any equipment on-site. One honest conversation could have changed everything for me. Now, I’m here to help start those conversations for others.
Someone is lost every 40 seconds. We can’t wait for “perfect” programs; we need honest conversations now. Together, we can help someone choose tomorrow.
"Let’s not wait for something tragic to happen to do the right thing" — Scott

By day, I’m proud to be a Ready-Mix Account Manager. I’m in the plants and on the jobsites just like you. But I’m also a survivor.
Many years ago, the weight of the silence became too much, and I reached a point of no return. I reached a point that far too many people in our industry quietly find themselves facing, but I was given a second chance.
Coming back from that moment didn’t make me an expert—it made me honest.
My story isn’t defined by that tragedy; it’s defined by the growth that followed and the truth that healing is possible.
If you need proof that you can make it through your darkest hour—you’re looking at him.
“Trust me, you are not alone, and one real conversation can change everything".
